Born to Glow - Glow-in-the-dark Pigment
Phosphorescent Pigments (Glow-in-the-Dark)
Phosphorescent pigments are light-activated glow-in-the-dark pigments that absorb and store energy from natural or artificial light sources. Unlike traditional mica powders, phosphorescent pigments contain specialized compounds that capture light energy and slowly release it as a visible glow in darkness. The brighter and longer the pigment is exposed to light, the stronger and longer-lasting the glow effect will be.
Born to Glow is a specialty phosphorescent pigment that appears hot pink in normal lighting conditions and emits a vibrant neon orange glow in darkness after being charged with light. This unique glowing effect creates an interactive experience that adds a touch of magic to your crafts.
Activation Method: Light Charging (Sunlight, LED, Fluorescent, or UV Light)
Effect: Long-lasting glow in darkness
How to Mix in Resin
Phosphorescent pigments are specialty glow-in-the-dark pigments rather than mica powders. However, mixing them into resin is just as easy as using mica powder. Simply stir the pigment into your resin until fully mixed and pour.
As always, please create a test batch before starting any large-scale work.
Use with Care
- Phosphorescent pigments are specialty glow-in-the-dark pigments. They are not mica powders.
- Start with small amounts and add more as needed to achieve your desired opacity and glow intensity.
- For maximum glow performance, allow the pigment to charge fully under a strong light source before viewing in darkness.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Uses
Perfect for resin art, jewelry, DIY art and crafts, air-dry clay projects, mixed media artwork, coatings, slime and other creative projects.
Handling
This pigment is not classified as hazardous under current EU CLP regulations. While considered non-hazardous when used as intended, avoid inhaling powder and follow standard precautions for handling fine pigments. For decorative and craft use only. Not cosmetic grade or intended for cosmetic, food or medical applications. We recommend wearing gloves when working with these pigments. Work in a well-ventilated area.
Please note: Phosphorescent pigments are significantly heavier and denser than traditional mica powders. As a result, they are packaged in smaller containers while still containing the full advertised weight.
